China Telecom unv elecom unveils a Huaw eils a Huawei Mate 60 Pro with quantum security At the 2023 Digital Technology Ecology Conference carrier China Telecom presented a modified version of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro with quantum security. This builds on work from last year when it unveiled a Mate 40E with Quantum SIM support. The new Mate 60 Pro can secure voice calls (VoLTE), messages as well as file transfers. The way it works is that a Quantum Key Distribution algorithm generates a new key before you start a new secure call, then this key is shared with the recipient so that their phone can decode the call (or message or file, etc.). The users must use secure authentication first to verify their identity. Security is ensured not just by the Quantum SIM card, there is also a custom chipset and the algorithm, which is a closely-guarded secret. The recipient must have similar hardware before the call/message/file goes through.  There is already a large user base, China Telecom annou...

Nothing states that all Nothing Chats messages are encrypted so neither Sunbird nor Nothing can access your messages or shared files. Nothing Chats will be exclusive to Nothing Phone (2) users in the US, Canada, UK, and EU at launch. Source • Via Nothing Chats brings iMessage compatibility to Android The lack of compatibility between Apple’s iMessage and RCS-supporting messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram and Google Messages has led to the so-called blue vs green chat bubble divide where non-Apple users are left excluded in group chats with green text bubbles. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Maison Margela Edition pre-orders now open

Image
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Maison Margela Edition pre-orders now open Samsung is working with the luxury fashion house Maison Margiela once again. This time, the partnership will bring a custom-made Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphone, and pre-orders/registrations are already live in China. The phone design is still unknown – it is likely to be revealed once the registrations are done, which is set to happen on November 30. According to leaked images, the design on the back panel will be colorful, unlike the black-white aesthetics in the predecessor Galaxy Z Flip4. We also are likely to see a custom-made leather case and a unique theme for the cover display. The phone will remain the same on the inside – a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 6.7” foldable AMOLED display and a 12 MP dual camera on the outside. If we use the price tag of last year's edition as a reference, the Z Flip5 Maison Margiela will easily surpass $1,500 and could reach $1,700, depending on exchange rates.

Realme GT5 240W review

Image
Realme GT5 240W review Introduction and specs Realme's 2023 flagship, the Realme GT5, is once again a China-only smartphone following the footsteps of its predecessor, the GT3. It's rather disappointing to see Realme taking a step back from the premium and upper mid-range segment in Western markets. Its GT series is definitely competitive enough on European and Indian soil. In any case, the GT5 is a feature-packed handset coming in two main versions - with 150W or 240W fast charging. The former has a bigger 5,240 mAh battery and caps at 512GB internal storage, while the 240W iteration goes a little overboard with memory. The only available configuration features 1TB of internal storage and 24GB of RAM. A bit of an overkill with the RAM, too. Battery, however, is 4,600 mAh, just like last year's GT3 with 240W. Realme GT5 240W specs at a glance: Body: 163.1x75.4x8.9mm, 205g; Glass front, aluminum frame, glass back. Display: 6.74" AMOLED, 1B colors, 144Hz, HDR10+, 1400 ...

OnePlus Pad Go hands-on review

Image
OnePlus Pad Go hands-on review Introduction The OnePlus Pad Go is the company's second tablet and the first one to compete in the mid-range segment. The flagship OnePlus Pad impressed us earlier this year with its design, display, performance, speakers, and fast charging. It also had some great first-party accessories in the form of a pen and a keyboard folio case. The OnePlus Pad Go loses a fair bit of that to achieve its lower price. The chipset has been downgraded to Helio G99. The display only refreshes up to 90Hz. And there is no support for the pen and keyboard made for the more expensive model. Still, these seem like necessary compromises to make. After all, the OnePlus Pad Go costs nearly half that of the original model, despite having a very similar design, nearly the same display size and resolution, and a four-speaker system. Moreover, the OnePlus Pad Go also adds cellular connectivity, something the OnePlus Pad lacks. OnePlus Pad Go specs at a glance: Body: 255.1x188...
